New to our library is this lovely artist Kai Mata. She is based in Indonesia and is part of the community and an advocate for LGBTQ+ matters.
“But I carry on, because my message isn’t for the ones who incite bigotry and hate,” she said to South China Morning Post. “Their hate shows me why I choose to love, for it seems like a much better, more fulfilling life I’ve chosen compared to theirs.”
Kai’s latest single in 2019 “So Hard” delivers a clear message to people listening through a synthetic pop melody: “Is it so hard / Seeing two girls in love?” she asks.
