Old Town’s Director of Community Projects and Events, Sylvia Lopez, did the introductions about what was in store to the full auditorium which gave a warm welcome to the first artist, Neusa Sauer. The Brazilian artist came out with her band behind her grooving to Bosa Nova beats instantly having the audience swaying. Neusa sang Portuguese tracks that were familiar to the crowd such as “Desafinado” and “Madalena”.
La Paula Herrera followed second changing the mood a bit with her story telling style performance. Singer/song writer from Chile known for her interaction with her audience engaging them in conversations about life kicked off her set with a beautiful song, “Gracias a La Vida”. She followed that with her original music from her latest album released in 2022, “Yo No Se”.
Closing the night was Patricia Ortega. Changing the tone of the evening once again with dance vibes, some cumbia, some ranchera, and some salsa flavors to her set. Her rendition of “Amor Eterno” had the audience singing along with her and some even up out of their seats dancing. La Paula joined her on the encore for a duet of “Lagrimas Negras”. Neusa then came up on stage where the three ladies sang a beautiful interpretation of “Sabor a Mi” to close this amazing night of a celebration of International Women’s Day.
