Los Hermanos Gutierrez played an intimate show at Chicago’s Sleeping Village on November 9th as part of their, “EL BUENO Y EL MALO” tour.
Hermanos Gutierrez, Alejandro and Estevan took the stage without saying anything to the sold out room at Sleeping Village. Complete silence filled the space as the two prepared their guitars sitting facing each other. They started their instrumental set with the track, “El Bueno y El Malo”. They set the tone for the night to be a serious, yet calm one. The two finally broke their silence when speaking of their new album, their inspirations for the compositions.
Alejandro and Estevan project such different personalities, different vibes with their styles of playing, yet find their balance on stage all at the perfect moments. Alejandro spoke of their background, their culture, their parents. They discussed the process of working with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys in his Nashville recording studio. They performed a good 20 songs mixed from their albums “Hijos Del Sol” “El Camino De Mi Alma” “8 Años” and “El Bueno y El Malo“.
After their set, they did a meet and greet with their fans, signing albums and t-shirts as well as photos with them.
