Renacer is The Braided Janes’ second album. It was inspired by sounds from the Latin American diaspora and the lush surroundings enveloping their live recordings in Minca, Colombia. The location was ideal for this musical rebirth. In addition, the trio was led by the hand of Grammy-award winning producer Christian Castagno (Iggy Pop, Bomba Estéreo, Arcade Fire). His studio, Sonido Selva, became a home away from home as the trio brought Renacer to life.
Renacer highlights tropical sounds with rock, pop and subtle elements of cumbia, reggaeton and nuevo flamenco in some instances. It’s alternative rock that interweaves sultry Caribbean rhythms and bold lyricism that reflects on love, loss longing and self acceptance. The album also features performances by Andrés Álvarez (Aterciopelados) on keyboards and Christian Castagno on electric guitar and percussion. It was mastered by Francisco Holzmann of Holz Masters.
