The allure of festival season includes a debut by *Auris and Friends
There is no doubt that summers in Chicago are highly coveted, intensely fun, and the envy of other metropolitan areas… well, at least we think so. This year, on the last Saturday and Sunday of June, adding to the delightful aura of our city All of Us celebrated its debut with remarkable performances and sets by Arca, Derrick Carter, Channel Tres, Disclosure, DJ Holographic, Patrick Mason, and James Blake. And, Grant Park was the lucky witness of such a joyful welcome to Chicago.
In addition to All of Us, there was also the July Fourth Weekender, which was hosted the weekend after at Lakefront Green.
Music journalist Jhonatan Carbonnel experienced both festivals and came back grateful that he was able to enjoy two weekends in a row, surrounded by great music and outstanding performances.
Jhonatan joined the Enchufate Live broadcast on July 11 at Lumpen Radio studios to talk about the festivals, logistics, outstanding performances, and the overall feel of both fests. Listen to Jhonatan’s complete review and recap below. And, check out some of the videoclips Jhonatan captured at All of Us and the Fourth of July Weekender.
Now, before we dig into Jhonatan’s radio segment, did you know that, according to the National Library of Medicine…
“Various types of festivals can provide economic boosts, as well as social cultural benefits such as social engagement, self-congruence, the sense of cohesiveness, commitment, and pride [40,41]. Festival participants can relax from daily life, feel refreshment, enjoyment and a meaning of life in a festive celebration atmosphere at an individual level [42,43]. Spending time with family members and important social networks such as friends and neighbors is important during festivals [44].” – National Library of Medicine
All that to remind us that All of Us together can make great things happen.

Stay tuned for the ARC Festival coming up on August 29-31 at Union Park.
