After returning from a successful tour of India, members of Surabhi Ensemble and Las Guitarras de España will come together for a global music and dance performance with the release of new music. They are celebrating at City Winery on Monday, October 6.
This evening of music and dance is guaranteed to inspire with surprises and collaborating artists including Abdoulaye Conde (Kora – Guinea), Juan Dies and Lorena Iniguez (Sones de Mexico), Patricia Ortega (Las Guitarras de España), Kinnari Vora and Leticia Aravena (Indian and flamenco dance traditions), Chiara Mangiameli (USA/Italia), Ronnie Malley (Oud/Vocals – Arabic traditions), Saraswathi Ranganathan (Veena – India) and Carlo Basile (Spanish Guitar/Chicago).

The album titled Guitarra Trotamundos or Globe Trotting Guitar celebrates years of travel, study, teaching, and performance to countries such as Vietnam, Spain, Portugal, Senegal, Mexico and India. The title is also a nod to the members of Surabhi Ensemble who have taken to jogging in various places with recent appearances in the Mumbai and Boston Marathons.
