“Join us 3rd Fridays this summer in Pilsen! The Pilsen Summer Art Walk is presented as part of the Chicago Made Professional Development Series, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
This is the latest initiative under the ESDC Shop Pilsen programs, which are focused to attract locals and visitors all year round. The free, Pilsen Summer Art Walk will have more than a dozen visual artists and performers showcasing their diverse artistic or musical talents, as well as 13 local galleries and shops joining this vibrant walk.
Art walks in Pilsen have been on hiatus since the pandemic and artists were affected in many ways, too. ESDC announces its first-ever Pilsen Summer Art Walk to bring visual artists, musicians, and Pilsen galleries and shops to an indoor/outdoor artistically inspired space.
Participants can purchase unique art, listen to live music performances or make plans before or after hours at our many popular restaurants and bars.
“The Pilsen Art Walk embraces the connections of arts, culture, and economic development,” says Jaime Garza, Special Events Director at ESDC. “Galleries will get to showcase prominent local, national and international artists, as well as support hand-crafted works by artisans.”
Garza also says, “Pilsen’s culture and art scene play a key role in continuing its legacy of building community wealth. We need to keep driving investment to creatives and community builders.”
