BABON is an psychedelic instrumental band from Indonesia. The group blends traditional Indonesian genres such as Keroncong and Dangdut with global influences ranging from Middle Eastern grooves, Latin, Spaghetti Western to Afro-funk, creating a rich, genre-defying sound they describe as “Tropical Desert” music.
They are set to release their new album, Tropical Desert, in September via Wonderwheel Recordings. The album is described as, “a mesmerizing collection of stories exploring environmental collapse and societal breakdown. Tales of frustration and desperation in the face of environmental collapse, the album serves as a stark warning and an invitation to rekindle our relationship to our surroundings.”
