“El tao del folk“
“Registro Civil” is the first track from El Libro del Amor, the new EP by folk artist Peras al Olmo. Directed by Brenda Valderramo, the video for the single was filmed in the Pueblo Nuevo forest in Hidalgo, Mexico.
Olmo writes,
“Sometimes the most punk thing to do is to get married. To have the courage to believe in your gut and put your foot on the accelerator with your wild hearts to Tijuana or even further, to Pachuca. This song is for the brave ones who light the constellation of their heart open to the cosmic forces that cross them. For those who are not afraid to fall in love like idiots, crazy things must happen in the name of the kiss and the night, in the name of building your own gang, your home, and your bonfire. A secret wedding in the forest of Mineral el Chico. A ring and a joint. My hands on your breasts and the certainty of infinite love in an instant. We are fortunate creatures to be able to perceive that gleam in each other’s eyes when they love us like a waterfall.
I have been searching for the sacred in music and in life for several albums now. We are a generation with a thirst for rituals of our own. Junkies of the ancestral. The world has collapsed and we are looking for miracles, we need them. ‘Registro Civil’ is a postcard of this search for the brightness of the song, the epitome of the song of the unbridled love.”
