RUSTY EYE – NEW ALBUM AND NEW LINE UP

re

Hollywood Metal band Rusty Eye has released its new record “Saca El Cobre”, a hard rock and heavy metal homage to Mexican “Rock en Español” while saying farewell to longtime drummer, Miss Randall.

With “Saca El Cobre”, Rusty Eye is paying homage to its Mexico City roots by covering songs of some of the most prolific “Rock en Español” bands from the late 80s and early 90s, all reinvented with Rusty Eye’s signature hard & heavy style. The album includes seven covers in Spanish from Mexico’s most notable Rock pioneers: Caifanes, Cuca, Café Tacuba, Fobia, Amantes de Lola, Maldita Vecindad and Transmetal. It also includes Rusty Eye’s hit single “Mr. Cannibal” re-recorded in both English & Spanish.

The release of the new album coincides with drummer Miss Randall pursuing new musical endeavors, having her throne filled by a session drummer for live concerts. As part of her farewell, Miss Randall will be participating with the album promotion, including music videos filmed in Mexico City, as well as some select live appearances.

Rusty Eye is constantly in a never-ending effort to top previous musical accomplishments. Pablo “Mr. Rust” Salido (Vocals/Bass) comments, “This marks the beginning of a new era, it’s not the first time we have adapted to changes made by our musical tendencies. Rusty Eye‘s essence is based on the evolution of the music”. Tony “Baron” Murtland (Guitar) adds, “Our life’s journey is ever-changing, but we will always continue to reach new musical horizons.

Rusty Eye’s new album “Saca El Cobre” was produced by Baron Murtland and mixed by Bill Metoyer (Slayer, Sacred Reich. W.A.S.P), and marks a new production standard for the band. “Saca El Cobre” (“Bring out the copper”) is a Spanish saying that means: show your true self, defining the bands reinvention of these classic songs. This hard-hitting, high concept, cover album is a must for anyone who loves intricate hard metal!

Saca El Cobre” Limited Edition CDs are now available at Amazon.com and Digitally on most Download and Streaming Services.

About Russian Red:

Russian Red is the stage name of Lourdes Hernández, a Spanish indie and folk singer-songwriter.

Known by many as the Spanish Feist, in reference to the Canadian singer-songwriter who inspires her in many of her attitudes on the microphone, Hernández—who writes and sings all of her compositions in English—states that she sings in that language instinctively because she has always listened to music in English.

Russian Red’s project began when Hernández met Brian Hunt, a musician with an English father and Spanish mother, with whom she recorded a demo (which included tracks that remain unpublished like “Reason”, “The Night of the Paper”, and “Sadie”) that reached more than 70,000 visits on her MySpace page by 2008.

The name Russian Red comes from the colour of a lipstick that Hernández herself usually wears. When asked how she chose the name, Hernández stated: “I had a band without a name some time ago. Since then, I was haunted by an obsession: to find the ideal artistic name. One day, I fell in love with this colour that a girl was wearing. I pronounced its name, and now it is my pseudonym. With the release of her first album I Love Your Glasses Russian Red became well-known and popular in Spain. In late 2010, Russian Red signed with Octubre of Sony Music Spain. In May 2011, she released her second album Fuerteventura. At the same time, she toured in Asia including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea. She also published a duet with Elvis Presley of his song “Love Me Tender” in the special Spanish edition of the album Viva Elvis. Fuerteventura was recorded in Glasgow, Scotland with producer Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, David Byrne, Mogwai).

About Enjambre:

Enjambre is formed initially by Zacatecan brothers Luis (vocals and guitar) and Rafael Navejas (bass), Romeo Navejas (drums) in 2001. With this formation the band begins to play presentations in Southern California and record a 3-song demo.

In late 2001 Romeo left the band and was replaced in early 2002 by drummer Nico Saavedra Chile. During the summer of this year the band as a trio rehearses hard and recorded a demo of 2 tracks which include “Gravity” and “Back to Fall.” After starting with a series of several presentations in California, Osamu Nishitani, in Japanese / British origin, he joined the group in August of this year, taking the position of guitarist also bringing a new element to the music via guitar synthesizers.

Once as a quartet, the group begins an intensive series of live performances, television and local tours during 2003. In April, the band recorded a demo of 8 tracks which was sold during presentations this year. Then in September to begin recording their first album “Solace In Domingo” in Santa Ana, California.

The band continued its cycle of presentations and tours during the recording of the album which culminated in the summer of 2004. In October this year, “Consuelo In Domingo” is released on CD and digitally via iTunes with a presentation one day Domingo in Hollywood, California at the Roxy Theater where they play the whole album + a set of old songs and others listed in “El Segundo is Feline” and “Nectar”, “Felinia Straight” and “Madame Siamese”.

Tours, promotion radio, and local TV shows continued in 2005 with the 1st single from the band “Biography”. The video for the single was much rotation on MTVs + USA via radio a great demand in the country which leads the band to lead the charts on Radio & Records alternative rock side.

In early 2006 Swarm is nominated for The Univision Lo Nuestro Awards in 3 categories “Best Album”, “Artist of the Year” and “Best Song” with artists such as Juanes, Andrea Echeverri, Molotov and Circus. This leads the group to have national recognition in the United States.

About Sobrenadar:

“Sobrenadar” is Paula Garcia’s solo project.

Paula Garcia is an Argentinean singer and songwriter. Born in 29 February 1988 Resistencia, Chaco (north of the country).

In 2006 she moved to Buenos Aires and began to study music production in Escuela de Musica de Buenos Aires. Two years later Paula moved back home and starting recording songs in his bedroom studio that has been self-described like ‘watery music’. She blends together reverby beats, electronic elements, soft guitars, and voice whispering to create “acuatic” Dream Pop tunes that it seems to be listening underwater. Sobrenadar can be translated to over swimming (float).

The track “Sommeil Paradoxal” has been included in a compilation “Así suena el verano”[1] released through the blogIndie Hoy (Argentina). Also the song “Esmerilado” in Weekly Magic Tape #27 of Magic (magazine) (France).
